Happy Tails

Since inception, OOWH has found homes for hundreds of animals.  We love hearing updates from adoptive families!

Buffy is our long time foster. Buffy came to us nearly on her deathbed, sick hungry and dragging her back end. After her initial vet check and some love and food she was doing ok. She moved to a new foster home with Lani. Soon we realized that there was something else wrong and was tested for diabetes. She tested positive. Currently Buffy is enjoying life and has her diabetes regulated with insulin injections twice a day. She loves to sleep, travel and go camping. She is a very sweet gentle girl and loves her belly rubs and getting brushed. Time to time we have asked for donations of insulin, needles and diabetic food for Buffy and you have always come through. For that we thank you because the expense of these supplies can be costly. Thank you.

The dark tabby is #1 Waldo, he was found under a shed with his brother. They were bottle fed kittens. #2 is orange tabby Dexter, he was a kitten that was found and taken into the rescue. #3 is Tomas, he's from a recent litter that was brought in. These three amigos are all owned by OOWH President Sherry!

Toker was one of five 11 week old puppies surrendered to OOWH in February 2015.  He has sinced moved to the BC Interior and as you can see he is living the life with his new family and furry brother Buddy the Lab

This is a picture of me and my kitty " Roo" who I adopted from on our way home back in September. As soon as I saw her online I called to come visit her. She was the sweetest most snuggly kitten ever. She curled right up on my chest and I took her home that night. She made herself right at home and adapted quickly. She loves to play and snuggles all night on her favorite purple fuzzy blanket. We are the perfect match for eachother and we couldnt be happier! -Jocelyn

My boyfriend and I adopted two of lady's puppies. Abby in November 2015 and Duke in June 2015. They are brother and sister and love to play together. Their favourite activities are swimming, going for long walks, chewing sticks, and snuggling. They don't like bath time or rain. These two pups are the best part of my day, even when they chew things. Both are very energetic and love pets and affection - Alissa

When I first saw Luna for adoption in September of 2014 I thought for sure she would find her forever home instantly.  In the back of my mind I believed she was mine and had named her right away.  In December when she was still available I knew I had to adopt her.  She is so full of peronality and talks a lot.  She screams at you to pay attention, especially when she feels it is time to play fetch for an hour and you're not being fast enough. She's a squirmy worm who doesn't really like to be held, but always wants to be close and cuddle. She sleeps ON me at night. She has been nicknamed Looney Luna Underfoot because she is kinda crazy and always trying to trip us up following us everywhere we go! She is so sweet and I always knew she was meant to be mine - Allison

This is Grey. He is a fabulous foster fail! Grey was the smallest of the 3 brothers I fostered in July 2014. He was sickly and couldn't gain weight. It turns out he had an allergy to fish and beef. Now he is a 16 pound monster who wrestles with (and takes down) our 15 pound dogs! They are his besties he even tries to follow them out for walks and is kinda sad when he gets left behind. He loves to be picked up and held like a baby and believes he is still a tiny kitten who can fit in the smallest of spaces. A happy, healthy, loving boy who is nicknamed "Captain Instapurr" by my daughter - Allison

This is JAX, formerly Chance. He was just under 4 months old when we adopted him from On Our Way. Jax is an amazing dog, loves his tennis balls, he's our velcro puppy - Tracy

This is my foster fail, Moesly who was found in the industrial area of Fort St John and surrendered to the rescue. He's so friendly and fit into our family so perfectly I couldn't give him up! - Reesa

Parvo Puppies - In 2013 a litter of puppies brought to the rescue were diagnosed with parvo.  Parvo is a deadly virus that is normally a death sentance for puppies that young.  Thanks to the care of our amazing fosters and with the help of our supporters donating the necessary supplies 5 of the puppies lived and have grown into beautiful dogs.

Luka one of the Parvo puppies from two years ago. He's the baby of the family and he knows it . Best dog ever. - Chantal

This is my foster fail from two years ago, Sheba was one of our parvo pups that year, she is a delight and the love of our lives! - Joy

Sasha was one of the 3 shepherd pups brought in last November.  Her new owners had planned to foster her and adopt another pup but it turns out she was home!  She is a wonderful pup! - Carrie

This is Rocket. We adopted him July 2015. He is a perfect fit into our family. He was scared of my husband at first. If my husband got home before me and let the dogs out (Rocket made 4) Rocket would just stay in his crate until I got home. After about 4 weeks of building his trust he got over it completely. Now there is no place he would rather be than snuggled up to my husband 😀 - April

This is zailee she was left in a cardboard box in a hallway of an apartment building and we adopted her when she was about 5 weeks from OOWH she was the weakest, smallest and most tame of her littler. We were worried about her for the first couple weeks and fed her as much as we could to fatten her up. She perked up and become very healthy. She's 7 months now and she's the most energetic crazy happy loving cat I've ever met. I was never a cat person but zailee is my baby girl and she's my favourite cat and I love her with all my heart ❤️she also trained on a harness and loves to play outside on her long lead 😊

Addi, Griffyn and another puppy were saved from roaming the streets in Moberly.  Their momma has had many litters, but not anymore!  Shelby was surrendered to OOWH with her very last litter.  She has been spayed and adopted by her foster home.  All her puppies were adopted and all will be spayed/neutered.

June 22 2016, OOWH President Sherry and VP Lani took a trip to Peace River Ab. to In The Woods Animal Rescue.  In the Woods is always full of animals and OOWH wanted to help.  They came back with 4 dogs, one of those named Bella who was expecting puppies!  Bella gave birth to 10 puppies at the end of July.  Jack, Piper and Leo are three of Bella's puppies.

Lucky on the left was adopted this past May through OOWHARS to be a companion for our Lucy adopted from the SPCA. He is a copycat and they are inseparable! He will hang outside a bit more than she does sometimes but she will wait by the door till he is safely back in. This is them under the Christmas tree in their Christmas sweaters
