About us
On Our Way Home Animal Rescue is based out of Fort St John, B.C. and serves the Peace Region It was created in May of 2012, and has been Incorporated with the British Columbia Registry as a not for profit organization. Not for profit incorporation number S-0059919
In 2016 the rescue took in 238 animals and completed 212 adoptions! The rescue’s success is thanks to the wonderful support from the community, foster families and dedicated volunteers. What's Happening
Adoption process
OOWH does not have a facility, all of the animals stay with volunteers in foster homes. If the animal description says it is available then applications are being accepted. If you're interested in adopting one of our animals, please submit an application for adoption.

Once the application is reviewed, a meet and greet and home check will be set up. You can not meet an animal until your application has been submitted and reviewed.
We try to process everything quickly but it does depend on the volunteers schedule. Adoptions are not on a first come first serve basis, we strive to match our animals to the home best suited to them. We understand that there are circumstances where your OOWH animal may need to be rehomed. In the adoption paperwork you will agree that any new home will go through the OOWH adoption process for approval and/or the animal will need to be returned to the rescue. The adoption fees generally do not cover the cost of vetting and spaying/neutering our animals and will not be refunded if the animal is returned.
